IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board)
The Teachers for Global Classrooms program is administered by IREX. Application process, online course, symposia, exchange and travel arrangements are all handled by this competent and friendly group of people.
TGC Program Application and Description
Although teachers have had the opportunity to travel for educational purposes before (most notably, through the Fulbright program), the TGC program is a novel idea of how to prepare teachers to globalize their classrooms by rigorous coursework, pre and post travel symposia, and traveling with a cohort of teachers from different subject areas and geographical regions of the United States.
